About Our Lake House

Our home is a beautiful single story house with lake access on the public side of Lake Anna.   The neighborhood docks with our own private boat slip are a short walk down the hill, and Lake Anna State Park is a short drive away.

Because our own family requires a full accessibility for mobility, the house is fully accessible for us and our guests. This includes exterior ramps, single story living, accessible bathrooms (with a fully accessible remodel coming winter 2021), and accessible furniture throughout the home.

Our vacation home at Lake Anna is approximately 1 hour from Richmond, 1 hour from Charlottesville, and 2 hours from Northern Virginia.

Testimonial:

From Lauren S:  My family just spent 5 glorious days at Beth's lake house. We made the quick trip from Richmond to Mineral with our party of 4 adults, 4 kids and 2 dogs. One of our children is ventilator and wheelchair dependent, which made Beth's setup perfect for our getaway.

The house was immaculate, comfortable, and had everything we needed for cooking and down time. Most importantly, our daughter was able to go everywhere we went and participate in every aspect of our time there. There was plenty of open space in the living areas that made it easy for those with mobility challenges to maneuver. The master bathroom was equipped with a large roll-in shower and a shower seat that folds down from the wall.

The back patio was also completely accessible and had a great fire pit for evening relaxation and S'more making where no one had to be left out. We were visited by some deer a couple evenings, which everyone loved.

We rented a pontoon boat from Boato for three days mid-week and it was delivered straight to the dock and then picked up when we were finished. Super easy and SO much fun!

You can walk down to the lake, but there are some decent hills coming and going.

We opted to drive down. Most of the common area by the docks is gravel, but it was still pretty easy to maneuver the wheelchair where we needed to go by tipping it back and just using the big back wheels. We had no problems wheeling our daughter down to the dock, over to her slip and right onto the back of the boat.

Food Lion is a quick 5-10 minute drive away and there are some basic dining options in the strip mall (Pizza and chinese). There's also a great cidery just across Rt 208 from the Food Lion and Louisa and Lake Anna State Park aren't but 20-25 minutes away.

We really had the best time. Having a safe place to take our disabled child that also allowed her to be 100% included was such a refreshing change of pace.

Beth was readily available to answer any questions we had along the way, but once we were situated, there wasn't anything we lacked. HIGHLY recommend!
